What is high blood glucose (sugar)?

High blood glucose, or high blood sugar, is called hyperglycemia. It is when your blood glucose is above 180 mg/dL.

Your blood glucose might be high if you:

  • feel thirsty

  • pee often

  • have dry skin or dry mouth

  • feel fatigued (tired)

  • are nauseous

  • have blurry vision

If you think your blood glucose level is too high, use a blood glucose meter to check it.
