Am I using the right length needle for my insulin pen?

Make sure you are using 4 or 5 mm needles.

Short needles (4-5mm) are used so you will reach the fat between your skin and muscle. 

If you are given longer needles, ask your healthcare team for 4 or 5 mm needles next time.
