Learn About Your Kit

0:01
Hello, thank you for participating in my Diabetes Kit research study to help patients better manage their diabetes.

0:09
Now I will walk you through the resources you receive at the hospital in preparation for your video call with our research coordinator.

0:19
The first resource you receive at the hospital was a set of four stack of boxes like the ones in this picture with supplies to manage your diabetes.

0:30
The only supply you did not receive was your insulin, which you should fulfill that prescription at the pharmacy.

0:38
Your glucometer might come in a in a black zipper container and another thing you are going to find in the boxes is some laminated cards with information.

0:51
The second resource you'll receive was a user guide.

0:55
This came in a purple folder and it's titled Learn to Take Care of Your Diabetes.

1:01
This is a companion book to the boxes where you can find step by step instructions on how to measure full blood glucose, inject insulin, and additional information.

1:15
The third and last resource is a website.

1:18
You can find the link and address of the website in the first page of your user guide.

1:24
The address is mydiabeteskit.com.

1:29
The main page looks like the picture I'm showing here, and a particularly unique tool you can see here is the videos.

1:40
In here, you can watch videos of a person demonstrating the correct technique to measure your blood glucose and inject yourself insulin.

1:48
For example, if I click videos, that opens this second window where the videos appear and you can watch them.

2:00
We encourage you to explore the information in these three resources prior to your video call with the research coordinator and make sure you have all your supplies, including your insulin, prior to the call.

2:14
Thank you.
